Prompt:  As the first semester comes to an end, take time to reflect on your learning and growth in this course. In a well-developed response, explain what you enjoyed most about the class, identify the project or assignment you found most engaging, and discuss which aspect of the course you connected with the most (such as poetry, fiction, writing, or discussion). Finally, reflect on one area where you feel you need additional support or improvement as we move into the spring semester. An assignment that I enjoyed was writing the origin myth story, where I related my origin myth to the 2021 F1 championship race in Abu Dhabi. I got to connect the assignment to something that I really enjoyed. One area that I think I may need improvement in is my argument essays/paragraphs, as that is the assignment for which I got the lowest grade.

Prompt: Many holidays center around traditions. Describe one tradition that is important to you or your family and explain why it still matters (or why it no longer does).

Prompt: Many holidays center around traditions. Describe one tradition that is important to you or your family and explain why it still matters (or why it no longer does). One tradition that is very prominent in my family is coming together and meeting. We like to have family reunions/ family get-togethers. Today in class, we caught up on work to make sure we were on track.

Prompt: How have the holidays changed as you have grown older? Compare your experiences of the holidays during childhood with how you experience them now, focusing on shifts in perspective, responsibilities, or emotional meaning.

Prompt: How have the holidays changed as you have grown older? Compare your experiences of the holidays during childhood with how you experience them now, focusing on shifts in perspective, responsibilities, or emotional meaning. The holidays have changed as I have grown older, as I have more responsibilities and stuff to help out with, like preparing the food and setting up decorations. Today in class, I took the notebook quiz and wrote the definitions of the lesson 6 words, as well as completing the Langston Hughes Refugee in America assignment. Today I learnt what the word trite means, which is lacking interest.

Prompt: Write about something you’ve outgrown but still miss.

Prompt: Write about something you’ve outgrown but still miss. Something that I have outgrown but still miss are Legos. Not that they are childish, but I no longer have the time or want to spend the money on nice Lego sets anymore. The nicer ones can cost from $ 500 to $1,000, and they require weekends of work to finish, which I just dont have anymore. Not in class 12/12/25 for summary/reflection.

Prompt: Write about something that you can't stop thinking about.

Prompt:  Write about something that you can't stop thinking about.  Something that i cant stop thinking about is collage and my education because your education is one of the main factors in life that determines how sucessfull you are and where you go there are other ways to be sucsessfull but your education is the most clear indicator of where you are headed in your life. Today we discussed classes with our concelers

Today we presented our masks to the class. Through our presentations, I learned about myself and about the people in my class, where they are from, and some of their life stories.

Prompt: Write about the best gift you have received.

Prompt:  Write about the best gift you have received.  The best gift I have ever received was my first phone because it was the gift that, when I received it, I used the most out of any gift I have ever gotten. Today in class, we went over the vocab lesson 5 and submitted our masks. Today I learnt the meaning of the word plethora, which is a large quantity of something.

Prompt: After watching the short film Identity, write a blog post reflecting on how the masks in the film represent the pressure to fit in and the struggle to discover who you really are. Choose one moment from the film that stood out to you and explain why. Then, connect the film’s message to Langston Hughes’ poem “I, Too” and to the mask you are creating in class. What part of your identity do you want your mask to reveal?

Prompt: After watching the short film  Identity , write a blog post reflecting on how the masks in the film represent the pressure to fit in and the struggle to discover who you really are. Choose one moment from the film that stood out to you and explain why. Then, connect the film’s message to Langston Hughes’ poem  “I, Too”  and to the mask you are creating in class. What part of your identity do you want your mask to reveal? The mask in the film represents fitting in with everyone, but also being used by the people who realize what the mask is when they talk about chess. The film shows that it relates to the poem when Hughes says that he wants to fit in; it's basically the exact opposite of the short film, so that's how it relates to it. I'm using the mask to show my enjoyment of technology and cameras. Not in class for summary and reflection

Prompt: In “I, Too,” the speaker expresses pride in his identity and his rightful place in America. Reflect on your own life: What aspect of your cultural identity are you most proud of, and why?

Prompt: In  “I, Too,”  the speaker expresses pride in his identity and his rightful place in America. Reflect on your own life: What aspect of your cultural identity are you most proud of, and why? The aspect that I am most proud of in our American culture is that you can say what you want and you won't be thrown away in jail like in other countries like China. If you say what you want, you get thrown away. Today in class we read the poem I too and started on our masks  Through the reading of the poem today I learned about the poem and it's meaning

Prompt: In “We Real Cool,” the speakers make choices that seem exciting, bold, and rebellious, even though those choices lead to consequences. Write about a moment in your own life when you followed what looked cool or fun, only to realize afterwards that it wasn’t the smart or responsible path. What influenced your decision, and how did your perspective change later?

Prompt: In  “ We Real Cool ,”  the speakers make choices that seem exciting, bold, and rebellious, even though those choices lead to consequences. Write about a moment in your own life when you followed what looked cool or fun, only to realize afterwards that it wasn’t the smart or responsible path. What influenced your decision, and how did your perspective change later?  A moment when I looked at my own life and realised what was cool, or fun, wasn't a smart or a responsible path was when I spent more time playing games with my friends than studying and getting good grades, and my grades were dropping, but then I realised that wasn't good, so then I started learning more and playing less. Today in class, we read the poem We Real Cool and we had a class discussion about the poem. Today I realised that within the people I know and associate with, our definitions of cool are very different from what apparently the other- majority of teens think is cool

Prompt: Discuss something meaningful or memorable you experienced over the break, or reflect on what you felt most thankful for during that time.

Prompt: Discuss something meaningful or memorable you experienced over the break, or reflect on what you felt most thankful for during that time. Something meaningful that I experienced over the break is me making my family reunion video and sending it out to my family, and they were all very appreciative to see the video that I made. Today we did lesson 4 vocab, and we did exercises 1-4 in class Today I learned about the word acme, which means at the highest point or at the peak.
