 You’ve been in American Literature for 4.5 weeks now. How has the class been going for you so far? 

The class has been going well except for when I got sick and I missed 2 assignments. Other than that small mishap, the class has been going well for me.

Summary: Today in class, we went over 3 poems 

I heard a fly buzz when I died

Hope is the thing with feathers

because I could not stop for death

Reflection: Today, I understood the perspective that hope can be bad a lot of times, and it means that you don't have a plan.

  Prompt: Describe a real moment in your life that felt like the beginning of a powerful story. Tell what happened, and why it felt like a turning point in your life? A real moment in my life where I felt like it was the beginning of a powerful story is when I started to truly plan my life, what I want to do, and what I can realistically do, and how I can achieve my goals. This felt like a turning point because I gained goals and know what I would like to do. Today in class, we analyzed Dr.King's I Have a dream speach and broke down 1 specific form of rhetoric. I understood today why, in Dr.King's first line, it was a hyperbole.
