After viewing my classmates' posters and receiving feedback, I understood more ways I could have related myself to things with similes and metaphors. Today in class, we looked at our classmates' posters and commented on them. Today I better understood some descriptive similes and metaphors.

In your response, explain what made that topic difficult and how you worked through the challenge (or what you might do differently next time). The topic that challenged me the most was thinking of things to relate myself to for each type of question to solve the issue. I looked up examples of others relating themselves to the same topics to get some inspiration. Today in class, we worked on our simile and metaphor worksheet and worked on our poster for them. Today I realized all the tings i can compare myself to in order to express who I am.

What did you learn about yourself while writing your figurative language? Writing the similes and metaphors helped me think more carefully about how to describe myself. I used them to better define myself. Today in class, we wrote our metaphors and similes about ourselves. I understood more about myself through writing the similes and metaphors.

If I had to choose three objects to show love it would be objects that mean a lot to me like my camera my pc and my phone they are all objects that I use everyday and if I let someone use would have to be out of love or great friendship. Today in class, we wrote poems for valentimes day using rhetorical devices. Today I had to think very deeply and relize why I love my pet birds becuase thats who I wrote the poem for.

My experience writing this has brought me some more confidence as I feel as though I know more forms of rhetoric, and I can use rhetoric to make my writing better. Today in class, we wrote our rhetorical analysis essays. Today I understood deeper how Obama used rhetoric in his 2008 concession speach.

One step of the rhethorical anlysis process is the first reading of the text because as I read it I get a feeling for it and I start to understand where and what the rhethorical devices are and what to use them for. Today in class, we did the 2nd part of the prep work for our rhetorical analysis essay. Today I understod how to find parts of rhethoric and which ones I prioritize for my essay.

  Prompt: In the spirit of Valentine’s Day week, describe your idea of a perfect day spent with someone you care about (a friend, family member, or significant person in your life).   The idea of the perfect day includes spending the day doing what I enjoy with friends, so ging ot see a movie, eating out, and going somewhere interesting, then at night hopping on the game with my friends. Today in class, we worked on the first part of planning our rhetorical analysis essay of Obama's speech. Today I understood some of the ways Obama made his speach which was about a loss, into something that didn't feel sad but more like motivation.

  Prompt:  What is the best piece of advice of that your parent or guardian has given you? Tell what the advice was and what prompted you to ask the question. The best piece of advice that I have ever been given is that with a little studying if you ever feel behind you can always catch up which yes I know is pretty obvious buts it was great for me to hear. Tdoay in class we analyzed the poem mother to son by Langston Hughes. Today I understood some of the metaphors in the poem Mother and son.

  Prompt:  What is the most challenging part of working in a group? Discuss a time when a group assignment did not go as well as you planned and how you learned from that experience.  The most challenging part of working in a group is having to deal with the people who dont do any work that they are supposed to be compleating and then the burden of the work on you is increased I have learned that I need to recognize these people then try to avoid them in my group or just plan on them doing zero work so that if they do any work then its a plus. Today in class we looked at other peoples rhetorical eassy's and graded them. Today I learnt what a 100% rhetorical eassy looks like.

  Prompt:  What is the most challenging part of writing an essay for you? Is it brainstorming, organizing ideas, writing a strong thesis, or something else? How do you plan to overcome this challenge? The most challenging part of writing an essay for me is organizing the ideas to flow smoothly. I have a lot of ideas, but they dont always flow. I plan on overcoming this challenge by learning how to organize my writing. Today in class, we finished writing our rhetorical analysis body paragraphs. Today, I deepened my knowledge of writing a rhetorical essay.

  Prompt: Describe a real moment in your life that felt like the beginning of a powerful story. Tell what happened, and why it felt like a turning point in your life? A real moment in my life where I felt like it was the beginning of a powerful story is when I started to truly plan my life, what I want to do, and what I can realistically do, and how I can achieve my goals. This felt like a turning point because I gained goals and know what I would like to do. Today in class, we analyzed Dr.King's I Have a dream speach and broke down 1 specific form of rhetoric. I understood today why, in Dr.King's first line, it was a hyperbole.
